Jesus has been so good to all of us, has He not?
It’s been a long time since my last blog entry… I hope you all didn’t miss me much! I missed writing. I hope that now that life has settled down a bit I can start back up.
Today, I want to focus on 2011. 2010 is long gone… thank you Jesus! Philippians 3:13 is so relevant in many areas, but not least of which – the New Year. We are now 15 days into 2011, are you still focused on your struggles from 2010? Or are you looking forward with a fresh approach to the coming year?
Not only do we find Paul talking in Philippians about letting go of our past failures and disappointments, but Solomon also spoke on this subject. His approach was a bit different. Say not, “Why were the former days better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask this.
King Solomon reminds us to not look at our past achievements either. This is unwise and ungodly. Your successes were not your own, your failures are behind you… what is to come is going to be awesome.
Brother Dale Gentry, a man who I highly respect and admire; both a prophet of the Lord and an awesome preacher, gave a word for 2011. It was simple. This year is set apart for God’s people as a time to get closer to Him. To spend time with God. To love on God and allow Him to love on us. This isn’t a time of frustration or circumstance like 2010 was… it is simply set apart for time in our prayer closet.
Allow God to minister to you this year by getting alone with Him. Make this year count as the year you spent more time with Him than any other year!
