Four Oaks North Carolina

So, yesterday was quite a day.  We drove from 9am to midnight.  Our last nearly four hours were spent looking for a decent place to stay.  As I sit and think of all the disgusting places we looked at, one comes to mind.  Super 8, Dunn, NC – the nicest of the 5 gross places in the area.  I walked in after looking at prices on priceline’s iphone app.  I asked the lady at the front desk (who was loudly playing farmville on her computer) how much a room was, and it was $30 more than priceline!  OI VEY.  We quickly left there and headed north to Four Oaks, NC.  We are waking up in a beautiful room at a Comfort Inn.

As we travelled around I got to thinking about some things.  Here is this very nice hotel (indoor halls and everything!) surrounded by trashy, dinky places.  And God blessed us with a price that was LOWER than had to offer and lower than the nasty super 8 a couple of towns back.  I refused to pay someone $70 for a flea and cockroach infested dump on the side of 95.  I will not put my wife in one of those places – she’s my princess and she deserves something nice.  This is how God views each one of us.  We are His precious children.  He wants nothing but the best for us, no matter the cost.

God wants your life to be everything it can be.  His promises give us hope and a future.  Be persistent in the things of the Lord and He will honor your requests.

The Parable of the Persistent Widow

1Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 2He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. 3And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’

4“For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care about men, 5yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually wear me out with her coming!’ ”

6And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

Ahhhhhh a nice motel at a great price. Me, I’m living with 2 dog’s, 2 cat’s (that were crying and hissing at each other for who knows what reason), a snake, and a fish I almost didn’t know exited. But since God cares even for the lone fish it was brought to my attention-in time-so it would not starve to death. So yes, God does care about the little things too.
